ocean conservation storyteller

When we know ourselves to be connected to all others, acting compassionately is simply the natural thing to do.
— Rachel Naomi Remen

Do you remember the first time you saw a wildlife documentary that truly resonated with you?

Maybe it was an episode about penguins on BBC’s documentary series, Frozen Planet with David Attenborough, or Steve Irwin rescuing a sea turtle on an episode of The Crocodile Hunter — or yet another wildlife warrior entirely. But chances are that at one time, you watched a nature show and have a distinct memory of being moved and inspired.

Video plays a crucial role in bringing the beauty and complexity of the natural world to global audiences by sparking curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the planet. Powerful storytelling can educate viewers about wildlife, highlight the challenges they face, and celebrate the efforts of local communities working to protect them.

Sharing real-world stories of animal biodiversity can empower people to carry the torch of environmental stewardship and become advocates for a more sustainable future. I am here to be part of this ecological revolution — to tell stories that cultivate understanding and foster a new generation of conservation crusaders.

giving back

Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion, to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
— Albert Einstein

the mythical legend of Halcyon

In the whispers of ancient Greece, where gods tangled fates like threads of gold, there lived Halcyon, daughter of Aeolus, the wind-keeper, and wife of Ceyx, a mortal king. When Ceyx perished at sea, Halcyon, stricken with sorrow, cast herself into the waves to join him. The gods, moved by love so fierce it defied the storm, transformed them into kingfishers, granting Halcyon the power to calm the seas. Thus, each year, during the sacred "Halcyon days," the winds sleep and the waves grow still, honoring her enduring love. From this legend, "halcyon" came to mean more than a bird or a season—it became the symbol of peace in the heart of chaos, a gentle hush in the midst of life’s tempests.

By far the best classroom on earth is Earth itself. In my years of traveling the globe, I've explored other nations, cultures, religions, languages, customs, and values. Each is beautifully fascinating in its own right, yet amidst the differences, I also discovered the similarities. We all love, learn, and are spiritually connected to each other and to Nature itself. It is in this spirit of discovery that I love to work, because if I can visually share the wonders of this planet with others and help them become emotionally engaged, then they will want to make a difference, and I will have made mine.
